  • I come from a family of Latinos in the way we cook rice my house is usually a one to one ratio. So one cup of rice to one cup of water. But everyone else does it the way you instructed. My rice always comes out good though.

  • @realbadman7 I was just going to comment the same! Olive oil, garlic, salt and one to one water

  • @realbadman7 @monihopkinsb Is this a fried rice that you are making? What kind of rice are you using? I love cooking rice in my electric pressure cooker and using chicken broth instead of water. It doesn’t require quite the 2-1 ratio. But is fluffy and delicious every time. I will add spices or other things depending on what the rice is used for.

  • @cb4krh hi; nope-not fried rice; just a white jasmine rice to go with every meal. I do it stove top and lately in my IP that is my new obsession. I’ve done chicken broth too but watching my sodium I haven’t done in a while; during winter i mix with wild rice, currants and pine nuts–pretty and flavorful

  • @thepennyhoarder get a rice cooker! They’re fairly inexpensive and rice comes out perfectly every time!

  • I use a rice cooker also, but the secret to good, cooked rice is the ratio of water to rice.
