  • I lost my home thanks to Wells Fargo. Then I became disabled, and now I’ll never be able to own a home again. It’s renting for me, and in Nashville’s market today rents are skyrocketing. So, yeah, my American dream is now an ongoing nightmare.

  • Like us. We almost lost our house in the crash and would have if not for HARP. Now there is supposed to be another one in 2020?!? My husband barely got a good paying job related to his degrees 5 months ago. I supported the family for 11 years. We are trying to get out of debt, begin a retirement account, and fix so many broken things we just couldn’t take care of (roof, HVAC). I told my husband if there is another one, I’m done. I’m starting a revolution.

  • That was a scary point in time… it was the perfect storm…. housing crash, job loss, and stock market loss…. I always thought if one was down, you’d still have the other…. Never thought it was possible that 2 income households could have double unemployment, not be able to sell your home, and have the market so low that you don’t want to “sell low” for money all at the same time… but it happened to many… It was then I was grateful I budgeted, reserved, and had cash on hand to get through.

  • Maybe this is why I’m so scared of buying a house. I’m almost to the point where I think I want to buy a house with cash. I was in my early 20’s completely not ready to buy back then but going through the crash and seeing so many people suffer makes me and my bf very hesitant to buy even though we have more than a 20% down payment. Nothing feels secure in this insecure world.
